Made in Austria by voestalpine, thermo-mechanically rolled alform steels have a low-carbon, fine grained microstructure. These steels are suitable for cold-forming and welding because of their chemical composition (low carbon equivalent). Their surface quality is well suited to laser cutting. We order alform 700ME to a minimum yield strength of 690 MPa longitudinal and minimum reported CVNL of 27J at -40C longitudinal, with dual certification to ASTM A1011 Grade 100. We also specify a chemistry of Si max 0.05 and Mn max 1.9.
